A new textbook, Enterprise in Action, to help teachers working with second-level students on enterprise or mini-company modules, has just been produced through Waterford's City Enterprise Board. The programme and the text are designed to be user-friendly, says writer Tara Shine (above), school enterprise co-ordinator in Co Waterford. She believes that co-ordinators of the Leaving Cert Applied Programme and the Leaving Cert Vocational Programme may also find it useful.
The text covers the essentials of business reports, research, costs, production, sales, records and structures. The book is intended as a set of guidelines for students who want to set up a mini-company or enterprise programme. It costs £5.
