PEN AND INK may no longer be needed when it comes to booking on to a summer course in Blackrock Teachers' Centre - it can be contacted electronically at its new World Wide Web home page.

It is the first teachers' centre in the country to have a home page and director Seamus O Canainn hopes to use it as a vehicle to promote the centre, its resources and activities. The current page lists resources and introduces the staff. Summer courses will be posted on the page and applications will be accepted by e-mail.

The Blackrock Teachers' Centre will be moving shortly to new custom-built premises in the grounds of the Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design on Kill Lane, Dun Laoghaire. Photographs of the Minister for Education at the "sod turning" ceremony can be seen on the home page.

Teachers wishing to find out more about Blackrock Teachers' Centre can access the home page at http://Ireland.iol.ie/(tilde)brocktc/. An internet users' group meets regularly at the centre.
