Let's Talk Dyslexia - a guide for parents from the National Association for Parent Support (NAPS) is slim, but filled with information to enable parents get the maximum help for both their child and the wider family. In simple terms it explains what exactly dyslexia is, what it means and does not mean, as well as what can be done medically and what can be done educationally. The booklet came about as a result of NAPS' experiences with families of children with learning difficulties, including dyslexia, and reminds us that "dyslexia is also a gift" in that dyslexic children may excel in areas which do not involve reading/written work and lists such well-known dyslexics as Leonardo da Vinci, Einstein, Cher and Tom Cruise.
