A one-day conference, Tackling Alcohol Problems - a European and Irish Dimension, will take place this Friday at Croke Park, Dublin 3. The conference aims to give those working in the area of alcohol abuse in this country an opportunity to share experiences with others from the European Union who are working to prevent alcohol-related harm.

Eurocare, one of the conference organisers, which monitors the impact of the EU on alcohol policy in member states, has 43 members in 12 EU states, five non-EU states and three internationally.
