Students taking physics to Leaving Cert
Over the past ten years the proportion of students taking physics to Leaving Cert has declined from 21.2 per cent to 15.9 per cent. This summer, just over 9,000 students took physics at Leaving Cert.
Where the science graduates go
Primary degree holders in employment: 53 per cent.
Research/further study: 31 per cent.
Vocational/training/work experience: 8.5 per cent.
Not available for work/study: 3.5 per cent.
Teacher training: 2.4 per cent.
Seeking employment: 2.2 per cent.
