Montessori teaching is very much a female-dominated profession. The Liberties College has trained only four men in he last six years.

There are no set rates of pay for Montessori teachers: they generally earn less than primary teachers, but they generally deal with smaller groups of children.

It is important that you check both the award you're getting from the Montessori school and the body by which it is accredited, as there are number of different accreditation bodies.
