The construction of the first all-Irish education centre in the Gaeltacht of Baile Bhuirne in Co Cork is expected to start next May or June. The development of the centre, which was announced last week, will be geared specifically towards the provision of in-service training for teachers throughout the country who teach through the medium of Irish at primary, post-primary and further education level.
The site will be approximately 1.5 acres in area and located in the grounds of Colaiste Iosagain. There are already 19 full-time and 11 part-time education centres at various strategic locations around the country. Planning of the project is to start immediately.
