A new business studies resource pack for second-level schools launched by the Minister for Education and Science, Micheal Martin, last week, will be in schools in a couple of days. The Irish Times Business 2000 pack is designed "to provide back-up enhancement to the text books covering the new syllabus", says Frank McKenna, president of the Business Studies Teachers Assocation of Ireland. Up to 800 copies will be sent to schools.
The Irish Times is the media sponsor of the multia-media pack which includes individual profiles of 32 companies and a CD ROM. "The beauty of this pack is that it allows teachers and pupils alike to develop into subjects at a much more involved level," says McKenna.
The pack is "particularly strong on marketing, management and enterprise, which means that the benefits are spread across a number of courses", he says.
