The Irish Management Institute will run its directors' and senior managers' training programme from February to October this year. The programme is aimed at executive directors, chief executives and senior line mangers in medium and large companies. The programme assumes a high level of management experience and a working knowledge of company finance.
The programme is modular and there are seven modules in total, each requiring two or three days' block attendance. Topics covered will include corporate governance, financial management, organisational management and integration and synthesis. The course is designed to afford senior managers the opportunity to critically evaluate their current performance and to plan a strategy for future effectiveness.
The course will be taught by a mix of specialists from the IMI, Irish and British academic institutions and the corporate sector. Organisational behaviour specialist, Andrew Kakabadse, will speak, as will Declan Kiberd from UCD, Dermot McAleese from Trinity and former IDA chief, Kieran McGowan.
