Journalism and communications students should find tomorrow's debate on multiculturalism and media in Temple Bar Music Centre of special interest. Organised by Metro Eireann, Ireland's first and only monthly multicultural newspaper, it will look at journalists' moral and professional obligations to promote multiculturalism and at how the Irish media is faring in the race debate.
Eamonn Dunphy is slotted in as moderator; others taking part will include Alex Pascall OBE, a developer of Black Londoner on BBC Radio London, Irish Times journalists Kevin Myers and Fintan O'Toole, TCD activist and lecturer in racial and ethnic studies Ronit Lentin, Susan McKay of the Sunday Tribune, Justine McCarthy of the Irish Independent, David Quinn, editor of the Irish Catholic and Shalini Sinha of UCD.
