The deadline for entry to a competition entitled Nation Building: Designs on your Environment has been extended to this Friday. The competition for third-level students of visual communications, architecture or interior design is being run in conjunction with an eight-part television series to be screened on RTE on building and architecture.

Students are asked to base their design entries on one of the themes of the television series, which include: Irish architecture; the churches' influence on buildings; the marginalisation of architecture; rural buildings; business buildings; living space; the planning culture; and the future of architecture in Ireland.

The winner will receive £2,000 in cash and the design will be put on promotional postcards. Entries must be of A4 size and mounted on an A3 board for display.

While the closing date for registration is Friday, the last date for entries is December 17th. Send entries to Montague Communications, Botanic Road, Dublin 9.
