If wild bogs are your thing, then the series of lectures being run by the botany department of UCD and the Irish Peatland Conservation Council might be of interest over the coming weeks. The talks take place on Wednesday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30 and will cover tourism, visitor control, filming and photographing bogs and the future use of cut-over bogs in the Irish midlands. There will also be practical sessions and field trips. The first talk actually took place last week but there are still six to go and information is available from Fiona Gormley at telephone (01) 872 2397.
