The recent merger of two of Dublin's best known private colleges, the Dublin Business School and LSB, has now created the largest independent third-level college in the Republic. There will be 4,000 students, a mixture of part-time and full-time, and the staff will number in excess of 100 people.
DBS, the larger of the two colleges is located in Aungier Street, while LSB is in Balfe Street. Both colleges offer a range of programmes at certificate, diploma, degree and postgraduate levels. They are both designated institutions under the National Council for Educational Awards Act of 1979.
The colleges see themselves as offering complementary courses, hence the appropriate nature of the amalgamation. DBS has established a reputation for itself in business and accounting, while LSB has developed courses in the humanities and social sciences.
