It's yet to be built, but already the new institute of technology in Blanchardstown, Dublin, is marketing courses for September 1999.
Come the autumn of next year, there will be four full-time courses on offer. These include three national certificates in electronics and computer engineering, computing and information technology, and business studies, all of which are of two years' duration, and a three-year national diploma in business, information technology and languages. Initially, lectures for up to 250 students will be held in an advance building on the site at Blanchardstown Road North. The Institute of Technology, Blanchardstown, is set to be established on a legal footing under the RTC Act next spring.
And, of course, it's not only students that the new institute will have to be intent on attracting. Applications for the positions of registrar, secretary/financial controller and heads of the schools of infomatics and engineering and business studies and languages are currently being received.
Other positions are sure to be advertised in the intervening period.
