INNOVATIVE ADVICE

Entries are being received for The Irish Times/Young Social Innovators competition, which aims to find a young social affairs correspondent and a young press photographer. Social affairs correspondents can write about any social affairs issue in their community, report on the YSI Speak Out Forum, or write about their own YSI project.

One Transition Year group – Joe Fitzgerald, Ashleigh Corbett and Jessica Gavin from Blackwater Community School in Lismore, Co Waterford – is producing a booklet of information advising unemployed people on ways they can use their time to benefit the local community and providing a list of resources for unemployed people.
