Tune In: Listeners in the greater Blackrock area of Co Dublin can tune in to BCR FM from next Monday for four days between 8 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. The venture by Blackrock College students has got a special-event licence from the IRTC. The objective is to promote the work of the St Vincent de Paul Society. Students from Sion Hill, Mount Anville, Willow Park, Oatlands, Muckross and Templeogue have been invited to produce their own programmes on BCR FM.
Carlow Day: Carlow Regional Technical College will have an open day on Friday week with information on its degree, diploma and certificate programmes in applied sciences, mechanical, civil and construction engineering, electronic engineering, computing, business and industrial design. Art Plans: Interested art students in Leaving Cert class could start planning visits to the National College of Art and Design now. Application forms for tickets to the open day are available from your school's guidance counsellors. This year the college - address 100 Thomas Street, Dublin 8 - expects up to 2,500 students for its open day on Thursday, December 4th. The day has been split into four separate sessions - at 9.30 a.m., 11 a.m. 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to accommodate numbers. Admission is only by ticket, which will be issued on a first come first served basis.
Trade Fair: A minicompany trade fair will be held in the school gym of St Declan's College, Nephin Road, Cabra, Dublin, Sunday next. Starting at 11 a.m., it will have up to 100 products on view. Schools in the north central and north west Dublin are expected to attend.
Music Date: Work by Brahms and Schubert will feature in Saturday week's concert at the National Gallery. Performed by senior students of the Royal Irish Academy of Music, the concert celebrates the death of Brahms and the bicentenary of the birth of Schubert. Tickets are available at the door for £2.
Career Choices: An exhibition on a range of career options at Dublin Corporation's Community & Youth Information Centre on the third floor of Sackville House, Sackville Place, Dubln 1, is open now. Enquiries are welcome from students who have questions about courses, careers, post-graduate study and grants and scholarships. The exhibition will be on view from this month until the end of January. Sackville Place is just off O'Connell Street. The opening hours are from 9.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. These hours may change on Friday and Saturday however.
