NUI Galway Volunteer Fair:Around 2,000 students are expected to attend the annual NUI Galway Volunteering Fair on Thursday, September 27th from 1.30pm to 5.30pm. Over 50 charities and community organisations will be in attendance.

Dublin Institute of Technology Annual Open Day for Guidance Counsellors
Dublin Institute of Technology is holding its annual open day for guidance counsellors on Tuesday, October 2nd in DIT Aungier Street.
Hosted by the admissions office, the day will provide an opportunity for guidance counsellors to meet staff and get first-hand information on the range of courses available across the institute's six faculties - applied arts, built environment, business, engineering, science, tourism and food - as well as DIT's student support services.

Institute of Physics Teachers' Conference
This year's Institute of Physics teachers' conference takes place on Saturday, September 29th in Cork IT and Blackrock Castle Observatory. The day will consist of talks and practical workshops. This year's keynote speaker is Prof Leos Dvorak from Charles University, Prague and there will also be free resources and teaching ideas. Places are limited and booking is essential. Liberal Arts Course at the Hunt Museum Limerick
The Hunt Museum in Limerick has been hosting a liberal arts course for five years. This year's course is entitled "Early Christian Ireland: New Perspectives" and will explore the art, archaeology, society and culture of early Christian Ireland.
The course is aimed at a general audience with an interest in art, archaeology and heritage. There are no entry requirements and no exam but those who attend a minimum of eight lectures will be awarded the Hunt Museum Liberal Arts Certificate.
The lectures will be held each Wednesday evening for 11 weeks between October 3rd and December 12th. Each lecture is divided into two 45-minute sessions with break for tea, coffee and discussion in the middle and questions at the end.
The cost of the course is €€250, with a special student rate of €€175 (with valid student ID). Gift vouchers are also available.
