School's back, and while there may be thousands of parents around the country sighing with relief into the peace and quiet, for some the stress is only beginning.
Whether you've just sent your eldest to school for the first time, or your youngest off for the last time, various issue can arise which parents find difficult to cope with.
The National Parents Council (Primary) runs a helpline, Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, for parents of primary school children.
Thelma O'Brien, the new helpline co-ordinator, explains: "The helpline is staffed by trained volunteers who are there with a friendly ear to offer support and advice. Parents contact us with concerns about everything from bullying to difficulties with homework."
That helpline telephone number is (01) 676 0099.
