To mark the recent 50th anniversary of the UN Declaration of Human Rights, Trocaire, Amnesty International and Development Education for Youth have produced a resource pack. The Rights Stuff, now available for use in schools as well as non-formal settings, is designed to promote an understanding of the convention. The pack focuses on the links between children's rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and issues facing young people globally. It is designed as a series of workshops, with the emphasis on participation through role-play, simulation and discussion. It's suitable for children and young people aged 10 up, and begins by examining what we mean by human rights; then it examines the rights of the child under four categories: survival rights, development rights, protection rights and participation rights.
