THE Dublin Institute of Technology offers the only specialised course in retail and wholesale management designed for those in the non-food trade. The course it aimed at those working in department or chain stores and employees of hardware, drapery, footwear or electrical outlets who are interested in moving up the career ladder. The course lasts two years and runs on two evenings per week during that period.

Subjects covered include marketing, computer science and law, sales promotion, customer service and economics. Classes begin on September 30th and those interested should contact Tony O'Connor at (01) 402 4216 without delay.

Feeling Fit and over Forty? and Fabulous Fifties? are just two of the short courses on offer from the Well Woman Centre which are aimed at women who want to get the most out of their middle years. These courses will consider how growing older presents women with opportunities as well as challenges and topics such as health, self-awareness and developing a positive attitude to life will be covered.

The Well Woman Centre also runs a variety courses on personal development, assertiveness, career development and stress management. The centre will design courses to suit companies, schools, women's groups and other organisations.
