I watch the news when it's on at home. I hate politics; it is all so boring. I would mostly know the leaders. Bertie Ahern is Fine Gael isn't he? Oh gosh no, actually he isn't, is he? I do know the old Fine Gael leader actually, it's John Bruton. I want to vote as soon as I'm entitled. When I do follow political debate, issues affecting teenagers such as drinking or drugs would interest me.

I am interested in current affairs and what goes on in the news but not so much in politics. I don't really understand all the things they go on about. I do find the Budget interesting, though, and hearing all the scandals in the tribunals. I would know the names of some of the ministers. I'm interested in some world politics, like the presidential election in the US for instance.

Generally the Six-One news is on at home - I like Sky News best because it's more tabloidy, with things like fashion and showbiz. I am interested, to a certain extent, in European or Northern Ireland politics. We have to know a bit about it for CSPE (civic, social and political education). If you tried to make young people take an interest in politics they'd be put off even more.

I am really into politics. Enda Kenny is the uncle of one of my friends so I would follow what is happening with him. I do think it is a tough job to do. If politicians are honest they do deserve respect because they do a lot of work on our behalf. I rarely watch Questions and Answers or Primetime. I believe it is important to vote because it really does make a difference to have your say.

I would follow politics or watch the news because my mum does. I watched the whole Fine Gael thing and I was surprised Enda Kenny didn't get a place in the Opposition front bench. I wasn't a bit surprised about Michael Noonan. I watch Primetime occasionally or listen to radio debate in the car. I love debating at school. People have often said I'll end up a politician - I think I could enjoy that.
