Police today arrested eight men in connection with violence that marred Cardiff's shock FA Cup win over Premiership leaders Leeds.

South Wales Police said a team of 40 officers swooped on 12 addresses in the south Wales area at 6 a.m.

The men were today being questioned at various police stations in Cardiff over alleged public order offences.

Police said the arrests also related to violence at Cardiff's league match against Bristol City last month. A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said they planned to make further arrests today and in the coming weeks.
