Gardaí in Dundalk have arrested eight people in connection with a murder of a man in the town last year.
Six men and two women were arrested this morning as part of the investigation into the death of Aidan Myers, (37), who was attacked by a gang of car-jackers in Dundalk's Mary Street last December.
Four men, aged between 19 and 26, are being questioned. It is understood the other two men and two women are being questioned on suspicion of withholding information.
Mr Myers died after a stolen Mitsubishi van was used to ram an Opel Astra car that Mr Myers and his companion were travelling in.
When gardaí and the ambulance service arrived at the scene, they found Mr Myers lying on the roadside beside his friend's car and died later in hospital. His friend was also injured.
The Mitsubishi van was later found by the PSNI in Newry.
Those arrested today are being detained at Drogheda, Dundalk, Kells, Navan and Balbriggan garda stations.
