Eighteen people died and 135 were injured when a bus hit another that had overturned on a bridge in Zimbabwe's western district of Nkayi.
A police spokesman said the first bus overturned at the bridge after a tyre burst. The second was travelling behind and slammed into it.
"Seventeen people who were in the first bus died on the spot while a man in the second bus died on arrival in hospital," he said.
The southern African country has seen several accidents killing scores of people over the past few years, mainly due to speeding as public transport operators vie for passengers.
