Eircom operating profits rose slightly to €240 million for the 12 months to the end of March 2007, up €6 million compared with the same period a year earlier.
In a financial statement released today the company said total revenue rose 16 per cent to €1.96 billion and that subscribers to its mobile phone unit, Meteor has increased by 33 per cent to 832,000.

Eircom said it had added 57,000 new broadband customers in the last quarter meaning it now has 417,000. It adds that: "As of last week, customers can now move freely and seamlessly between various broadband providers" on the basis of new agreements signed regarding access to the company's network.
Revenue from the fixed line sector increased slightly to €1.65 billion, a rise of 2 per cent.
The company said that earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization and before restructuring programme costs was €641 million, a rise if 7 per cent compared with the same 12 month period.
Rex Comb, CEO eircom said: "The group has delivered solid revenue growth, strong subscriber numbers and consistent EBITDA figures both in the mobile and fixed line segments for the quarter and the past financial period through 31 March 2007. Group operating profit now stands at €240 million."
