The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will present his report on Iraq to the Security Council a month ahead of schedule.
Mr Mohamed El Baradei had not been due to report on searches by his nuclear weapons experts in Iraq until April but will now present the report at the same time as chief arms inspector Mr Hans Blix presents his report.
Since November, El Baradei's IAEA has searched for proof of US allegations that Iraq revived its nuclear weapons programme. Mr Blix's team of inspectors has been searching for chemical, biological and ballistic weapons.
A spokesperson said the IAEA still hopes to press ahead with weapons inspections in Iraq despite the appearance of the new draft UN resolution that could end them by triggering war.
Asked if the IAEA was giving up hope for several more months of arms inspections in Iraq, he said: "Absolutely not. We haven't changed our position".
