Im here in an organisational and personal capacity because of my disbelief and anger at how Ireland is being run at the moment and not in a democratic way.

There is lots of legislation that pushes the notion that we have democracy but it is not an equal society. Equality must be on the agenda.

I think its (Claiming our Future) the start of something. It is about mobilising to participate, to show people the importance of participation to effect change. Most people feel that their opinions dont count for anything and that needs to change.

Its important that they move from a model of tokenistic representation, which is what we have from Government now. They cant just have a debate and say theyve consulted people. There has to be full input from participants. That is part of equality.
