A Ryanair aircraft flying to London with some 90 passengers on board made a safe emergency landing in Denmark last night, Danish national news agency Ritzau reported today.

After take-off the Boeing 737 lost height due to a fall in cabin pressure and was forced to fly back to Tirstrup Airport in western Denmark, its point of departure, Ritzau said.

A spokeswoman for the airline said there had been technical problems with the flight and engineers were now inspecting the aircraft but gave no further details.

Many of the passengers were put up in a hotel for the night after the incident.
