Forty staff at an Ennis printing company are to lose their jobs due to the closure of the firm.
SIPTU has expressed strong concern at the behaviour of the Graham & Heslip firm and its treatment of the employees.
Union spokesperson Ms Mary O'Donnell, said staff had been "laid off" with out any notice and without following any of the liquidation procedures. The company has been in the town for 18 years and has many long-serving staff.
She said staff were picketing the factory after the company tried to remove equipment from the site on Saturday.

There was no comment from the company's Ennis or Belfast office this afternoon. The firm said it may issue a statement later.
