A number of areas in Cork city experienced flash flooding this afternoon after heavy downpours coincided with high tide causing the River Lee to overflow in parts.
Impacted areas included Anglesea Street, Douglas Street, Turner’s Cross, Penrose Quay and the Curragh Road.
No road closures are in place. However, motorists have been asked to avoid the Penrose Quay area of the city for the rest of the afternoon.
Signs have been erected in the impacted areas.
