A "highly contentious" section of the Employment Equality Bill has been amended, according to the Southern Equality Campaign (SEC).
Campaign chairman Mr Stephen Quillinan said he was delighted that an intensive lobbying and information campaign was "finally bearing fruit". He said section 16.4 of the Bill, which was intended to facilitate the non recruitment, promotion or removal from employment of an individual who engages in any form of sexual behaviour which might reasonably be objected to, was amended in committee last week. "The section will now refer to "unlawful" sexual practices," he said.
