Sven-Goran Eriksson will be offered an extension to his contract if England qualify for Euro 2004, according to a report in the British press.

The Daily Telegraphreports that senior officials at the Football Association have "already floated the idea" with the Swede and claim he has agreed to hold talks about his future in October or November.

The paper says any meeting will be on the basis of "let's qualify, then let's talk".

An "understanding" is said to be in place for Eriksson and the FA to meet either after the trip to Turkey on October 11 or the home and away play-offs on November 15th and 19th.
