Two ESB branches in Dublin were raided today by men armed with hand-guns.
A garda spokesman said a man armed with a hand-gun raided the ESB branch on the Malahide Road at 10.30 a.m. He fled the scene on foot with a small quantity of cash in euros.
At about 2 p.m. the ESB branch in Collins Avenue was raided by two men armed with a hand-gun. They escaped with a few thousand euros and punts.
The spokesman said the raids are not believed to be connected. He said no shots were fired during the raids and nobody was injured.
