Addis Ababa - Ethiopia has agreed to a moratorium on air raids in its undeclared border war with Eritrea but it will defend itself if threatened, a government spokeswoman said yesterday.
Ms Selome Taddesse told reporters that Ethiopia had accepted the moratorium but she added that "if our sovereignty is put under threat, we will defend it". The agreement, announced in Washington on Sunday, emerged after President Clinton spoke to the leaders of Ethiopia and Eritrea by phone. on Sunday.
