There is no need for the European Union to change its tack in the Doha round of trade talks, the bloc's incoming trade commissioner said today.
Mr Peter Mandelson, a member of the EU executive that takes office in November, said in a note to members of the European Parliament he was keen to reduce regulatory obstacles to trade with the United States.
"Further strengthening and developing the EU's vitally important trade relationship with the United States will be among my high priorities," he said.
