Inflation in the euro zone eased to 2.1 per cent in December from 2.2 per cent in November, the European Union's statistics office said today.
Eurostat's estimate of December inflation was broadly in line with a consensus forecast of economists surveyed by Reuters news agency that called for an annual rise of 2.05 per cent.
The monthly change in prices and details of December inflation will be released by Eurostat on January 21st, according to its preliminary release schedule.
