The 46th Eurovision Song Contest has kicked off this evening in Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Ireland's hopes are pinned on Dublin singer Gary O'Shaughnessy who will sing the Pat Sheridan composition Without Your Love.
Always attracting an enthusiastic audience, at least 100 million Europeans, however, will watch the contest live from Copenhagen tonight.
To date, Ireland has clocked up a record seven Eurovision wins - the last year we won was in 1996 with Eimear Quinn singing The Voice.
