Everton have re-signed Arsenal striker Francis Jeffers on a year long loan deal that will see the England striker return to the club where he began his career.
Jeffers was signed by Arsenal in 2001 for £8 million sterling but has since struggled to get into the Gunners' star studded line-up.
His only appearance this year was as a substitute in the Community Shield clash with Manchester United in which he was sent off after a tussle with United defender Phil Neville.
Jeffers will be joined at Goodison by former England goalkeeper Nigel Martyn, who completed a move from Leeds United earlier today for a nominal fee.
Martyn, capped 23 times by England, has lost his spot between the posts to England keeper Paul Robinson.
Injury to Richard Wright and disappointing form from replacement keeper Simonsen would appear to have prompted Everton manager David Moyes's decision to sign the veteran.
