Former government press secretary Mr P.J. Mara, will be allowed claim €80,000 from the State in costs arising from his appearances at the Mahon tribunal.
The tribunal ruled in his favour this morning.
Mr Mara has been criticised by the tribunal for failing to provide it with details of an account held in the Isle of Man.
Mr Mara's legal representatives contend their client accepted and apologised for this omission, which he maintained had not constituted a hindrance to the tribunal.
