Archaeological Ensemble of the Bend of the Boyne (designated in 1993): Over 5,000 years old, Newgrange, Dowth and Knowth in Co Meath together comprise Europe's largest and most important concentration of prehistoric megalithic art.
Skellig Michael (1996): This eye-achingly beautiful island is located 12 kilometres off the coast of Kerry and houses an extraordinary early Christian monastery complex, perched at the top of the 250m conical- shaped island.
Giants Causeway (1986): On the coast of Co Antrim, it consists of 20,000 massive black basalt columns sticking out of the sea.
