Skopje - Explosions ripped through two municipal buildings in a village inside former guerrilla territory in Macedonia last night after state police began limited patrols under a peace plan, witnesses said.
They said the mayoralty offices and the adjacent police headquarters in Tearce were badly damaged. No one was in the buildings and no injuries were reported.
Security officials in the capital, Skopje, confirmed the blasts. Police began patrols in Tearce and four other ex-rebel communities under international monitoring earlier yesterday but left after a few hours. The cause of the blasts was not immediately known.
