British army bomb disposal experts defused a crude explosive device left outside a bar in the staunchly loyalist Tiger's Bay district of Belfast early yesterday.

"There is clearly an element who are intent on stoking up violence in north Belfast with a clear aim of drawing others into a reaction," said local DUP MP Mr Nigel Dodds, reacting to the find. - (Reuters)
