An Army bomb disposal team has made a safe a viable explosive device Palmerstown, Co Dublin, overnight.
According to the Defence Forces, the team arrived on the scene at Whitethorn Crescent, Palmerstown, at 2.45am in response to a request by gardaí.
The device was made safe at the scene and removed for further examination. No controlled explosion was carried out, and the scene was declared safe at 3.48 am.
Gardaí are investigating.
