A Dublin man who was extradited from Britain yesterday appeared at a special sitting of the Special Criminal Court last night charged with the murder of a man in the city five years ago.

Mr Richard Tobin (47), of Somerville Drive, Crumlin was charged with the murder of Mr John Bolger (31), at Upper Clanbrassil Street on July 22nd, 1994.

He was also charged with possession of a semi-automatic rifle and six rounds of ammunition with intent to endanger life on the same date.

Det Sgt Walter Kilcullen, of Kevin St Garda Station, gave evidence of arresting Mr Tobin at Dublin airport at 3.55 p.m. yesterday. The detective sergeant said he arrested Mr Tobin on foot of three warrants issued by the court and Mr Tobin replied, "Nothing to say."
