Northern Ireland's unemployment rate has fallen to its lowest level in 24 years, the Economy Minister, Mr John McFall, has announced. According to the latest labour market statistics published yesterday, the North's unemployment rate stands at 6.2 per cent, while the number claiming Jobseekers' Allowance has fallen by 1,500 to 48,200.
Mr McFall, however, conceded that unemployment as measured by the international definition ILO had risen slightly over the year.
