Falun Gong hold Dublin march

Chinese people living in Ireland were today called on to quit the Communist Party

Chinese people living in Ireland were today called on to quit the Communist Party. In a march through Dublin city centre to mark the 8th anniversary of the suppression of the Falun Gong movement in China, Chinese residents were encouraged to turn their  back on the party and other related organisations.

Over the past eight years, Falun Gong practitioners have campaigned against persecution in China. Today, they showed their solidarity at the Garden of Remembrance.

On July 20 1999, the persecution of Falun Gong began with the arrest of the co-ordinators of Falun Gong assistance centres in all major cities of China.

"Since the Chinese Communism regime won't stop the persecution by themselves, our current way of stopping the persecution is to encourage Chinese people to quit Chinese Communist organisations," said Ming Zhao, a Falun Gong practitioner from China and now an Irish citizen.

"In such a way, the regime is being dissolved, which is the same as what was happening to the Soviet Union before it collapsed."

Mr Zhao said more than 23 million Chinese people have publicly quit the party.

"This high tide of quitting CCP is changing China effectively from inside," he added.

"When a government that devotes its major resources into doing bad things, it is just destroying itself.

"This persecution won't last long. We are seeing more and more hope of its coming to an end."
