Sarajevo - Sarajevo's Oslobodjenje newspaper, which was a defiant symbol of Bosnian resistance in the 1992-95 Serb siege, will resume publication today after workers reached an agreement with management averting the threat of closure, its trade union leader said. Oslobodjenje stopped printing on Sunday for the first time in 58 years after journalists walked out in protest at long delays in wage payments, threatened pay cuts and management policy.
Journalists worked by candlelight and braved snipers to continue publishing Oslobodjenje, which means "liberation", during the Sarajevo siege.
