A worker fell to his death from an unguarded balcony while unpacking goods in a distribution warehouse for the Pound World chain of stores, Dublin District Court was told yesterday. Mr Alex Jordan (49) died from head injuries when he fell about 11 feet from a mezzanine floor in the warehouse at Western Industrial Estate, Naas Road, Dublin, on November 10th, 1999.
Yesterday, Hamill and Henderson Ltd, trading as Pound World, was fined £1,000 after pleading guilty to a breach of safety regulations.
