Monday night's fatal shooting was the seventh shooting in the past two weeks in the area known as Kings Island in Limerick.
• On September 23rd last at 1am Ian Brennan (21) was seriously injured in a shooting incident, which took place in the St Munchin's Street area of St Mary's Park.
A 19-year-old youth is currently before the courts charged in connection with the incident.
•On September 25th at 8.30pm a gunman fired a shot through the front door of a house in Asumpta Park, Island Road, beside St Mary's Park.
The house was occupied but nobody was injured.
• On October 2nd shortly after 2am a woman was asleep in the sitting room of her home on St Munchin's Street in St Mary's Park when she woke to the sound of bullets being fired through her front door.
• Also on October 2nd, just before 5am while gardai were at the scene of the earlier incident, shots were fired at a house on the opposite end of St Munchin's street.
Again, four shots were fired, three through the front door and one through a downstairs window. Nobody was injured in either incident.
• On October 6th last at 12.30am a family had a lucky escape when seven shots were fired into their home in St Mary' s Park.
The front windows of the house were shattered but nobody was injured.
• Also on October 6th at 5.30am two shots were fired at a house in Asumpta Park, Island Road. Again the house was occupied but nobody was injured.
• October 8th at 10.15pm on St Ita's Street St Mary's Park, Gary Grant (20) was shot dead just yards from his home.
