A British man who fell from a hotel balcony in Greece with his two children has been charged with murder after his six-year-old son died.
The man has also been charged with attempted murder after his two-year-old daughter survived the fall on the island of Crete.
She is in hospital in a stable condition. The man (32) is under police guard in hospital and is also in a stable condition.
He fell from a fourth-floor hotel balcony with the two children on Tuesday evening in Ierapetra, a popular holiday destination on the south coast of the island.
The father was said to have travelled from Britain for a two-week holiday.
The director of the Agios Nikolaos hospital said: "The father says he doesn't remember anything and claimed he was confused and had been drinking. . . . This is a case that is truly tragic."
